Baseball Game Preview: Northeastern Clinton Cougars vs. Richford Falcons

The Northeastern Clinton Cougars will take on the Richford Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Northeastern Clinton and three for Richford.

Moriah hit Northeastern Clinton with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell 5-2 to the Vikings.

Jacob Perkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on one hit and racked up seven Ks. Northeastern Clinton is 3-1 when Perkins allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-8-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Jordan Wells made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Richford lost 11-3 to Blue Mountain on Friday.

Northeastern Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 5-9-1. As for Richford, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-1.

Northeastern Clinton skirted past Richford 6-5 in their previous meeting on May 3rd. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
