Basketball Recap: Pensacola Christian Academy Warriors vs. Aletheia Christian Academy Lions

Pensacola Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They breezed by the Aletheia Christian Academy Lions to the tune of 53-21. The Warriors pushed the score to 43-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions had no chance of recovering from.

Maddie Sellars had an outrageously good game as she had 15 points in addition to six assists and six steals. Mylee Trimble was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.

Pensacola Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aletheia Christian Academy only posted five.

Aletheia Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Violet Martin, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and two steals. Martin has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylee Nance, who earned nine points plus two steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Aletheia Christian Academy fell to 2-1.

Pensacola Christian Academy is headed away from home for the first time to take on Northview at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aletheia Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Baker at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
