Soccer Game Preview: Lansing vs. De Soto

Lansing is 1-7 against De Soto since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lions will face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Lansing's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lansing took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Leavenworth 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, De Soto faced Seaman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Vikings. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for De Soto considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

De Soto's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Lansing, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5-1.

Lansing might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from De Soto in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
