Basketball Recap: Northwest Takes a Loss

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 49-11 loss at the hands of the Quince Orchard Cougars. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Among those leading the charge was Evelyn Steele, who went 5 of 12 en route to 11 points along with five boards and four blocks. Steele is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ayanna Anspach was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Quince Orchard, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Northwest has already played their next matchup (against Paint Branch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Quince Orchard will venture away from home to square off against Damascus at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Damascus will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Quince Orchard surely won't give up without a fight.
