Softball Game Preview: Butte Bulldogs vs. Capital Bruins

Butte hasn't had much luck against Capital recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Bruins at 3:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Butte fell victim to Helena and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bengals. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Capital came up short against Big Sky on Tuesday, falling 16-4. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Madi Emmert was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Krepps, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Capital's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Butte, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Butte came out on top in a nail-biter against Capital when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
