Basketball Recap: Alexandria-Monroe Tigers vs. Blackford Bruins
Alexandria-Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 66-53 to the Blackford Bruins. The Tigers were down 60-39 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Blackford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amarian Leggett out in front who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Kitterman, who made all 7 shots he took to post 15 points.
Alexandria-Monroe's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-4. As for Blackford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Alexandria-Monroe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-43 loss against Tri-Central on the 14th. Blackford and Elwood will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
