Basketball Game Preview: Red Oak Tigers vs. AHSTW Vikings

The Red Oak Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the AHSTW Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Red Oak comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Red Oak challenged Clarinda on Tuesday. Red Oak was beaten by Clarinda 60-22. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Cardinals are ranked 141st).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-26, which was the final score in AHSTW's tilt against Riverside on Tuesday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

AHSTW's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Red Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

Red Oak might still be hurting after the 54-31 defeat they got from AHSTW when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Red Oak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
