Basketball Game Preview: Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks vs. Shelby Coyotes

After both having extra time off, the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks and the Shelby Coyotes will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chester-Joplin-Inverness has four straight victories, Shelby has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Chester-Joplin-Inverness is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Hays-Lodge Pole, posting a 64-29 win. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Shelby was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Saturday as they fell 54-49 to Chinook.

Chester-Joplin-Inverness' victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Shelby, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
