Baseball Recap: Northwood Comes Up Short

Northwood was the 19-1 winner over Dodson when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Northwood took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dodson on Friday.

Chase Basco made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Randall Carraway, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Northwood has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. Dodson's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwood will head out to take on Alexandria Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dodson, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Dodson Panthers duke it out with Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
