Volleyball Recap: Glendale Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Glendale posted their closest win since September 9th on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Juniata Valley Hornets 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on September 9th.

Glendale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 26-28, 27-25, 25-15, 15-7.

Rachel McClellan produced another solid effort getting 39 kills, 14 digs, and three blocks. Those 39 kills gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Matish, who had 32 assists and 13 digs.

Glendale's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9-1. As for Juniata Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Glendale will head out to challenge Northern Cambria at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Juniata Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Williamsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
