Volleyball Recap: The Vanguard School Comes Up Short

The Vanguard School Coursers came up short against the Regis Jesuit Raiders on Saturday and fell 2-0. The Coursers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by exactly two points. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-23.

Lucas Soeldner paced The Vanguard School's offense, picking up 11 kills. Soeldner got some help from Joseph Wetters and his 16 assists. Soeldner was also a major player on defense: he and Lachlan Patrick shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

The Vanguard School's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Regis Jesuit, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-9 record.

The Vanguard School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Chaparral on the 12th. As for Regis Jesuit, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Castle View on the 12th.
