Baseball Recap: Loveland Red Wolves vs. Brighton Bulldogs        
        
		
            
 Loveland won the last time they faced Brighton, and things went their way  on Thursday too. The Loveland Red Wolves came out on top against the Brighton Bulldogs by a score of  11-7.
  Moxon Allen looked comfortable as he  struck out six batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Jess Smith was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alex Martin, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 On Brighton's side,  Austin Waltemath was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Andrew Schmeh, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Brighton was hitting in the alleys and  finished the game with five  doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loveland only hit two.
 Loveland's victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 7-8. As for Brighton, they have  not been sharp recently as the team has  lost six of their last eight matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record  this season.
 Loveland will head out on the road to  challenge  Horizon at 3:30  p.m.  on Friday. Horizon is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.5  runs per game  this season. As for Brighton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Mountain at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
