Carver put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 26-22 W against the Holy Innocents Episcopal Golden Bears. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Bears, too.

Corey Fletcher threw for 174 yards and one TD. Michael Baugh was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards. On the ground, Lataious Stepp Jr. rushed for 125 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries.

Although Holy Innocents Episcopal took the loss, they still got scores from Brayden Bailey and Denim Stevens.

Carver's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Holy Innocents Episcopal, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Carver will take on Therrell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carver will be up against Therrell's rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.29 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Holy Innocents Episcopal, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Washington at 4:00 p.m. on the 25th. The Golden Bears will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27.14 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
