Soccer Game Preview: Sonora vs. Hilmar

Sonora hasn't had much luck against Hilmar recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 5:45 p.m.

Sonora had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least four goals, but Orestimba put an end to it on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Hilmar waltzed into their matchup on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Cougars. Given Hilmar's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Escalon are ranked 700th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Hilmar, their win bumped their record up to 14-2-2.
