Softball Game Preview: Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles vs. Salem Rocks

The Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles will head out to take on the Salem Rocks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plymouth Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Plymouth Christian Academy nor Clinton made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Eagles fell 4-1 to the Redwolves. It was the first time this season that the Eagles let down their fans at home.

Plymouth Christian Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Weertz, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Weertz has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Salem faced Walled Lake Northern in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Rocks fell just short of the Knights by a score of 1-0. The Rocks' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 16-4-1. As for Plymouth Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

Plymouth Christian Academy suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Salem in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
