Recap: Cherokee Indians vs. Johnson City Eagles
The Cherokee Indians were the 64-32 winner over the Johnson City Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Cherokee was the victim of a tough 53-33 loss at the hands of Johnson City on Tuesday.
Johnson City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Collin Corpus led the charge by scoring 10 points along with 8 assists. Johnny Slawinski was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Cherokee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Johnson City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Cherokee will square off against Brookesmith at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Johnson City, they will take on Thrall at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Thrall is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
