Flag Football Recap: Mary Persons' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Mary Persons fell victim to Pike County and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a hard 19-0 fall against the Pirates. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Olivia Crews threw for 131 yards on 14 of 24 attempts. Kolbi McBrayer was her top target, picking up 74 receiving yards.

With the loss, Mary Persons broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8. As for Pike County, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Coincidentally, Mary Persons and Pike County will both be playing Griffin the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Pirates will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
