Basketball Recap: Monte Vista Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Monte Vista lost against Patrick Henry back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Monarchs took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Monarchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Alexander Newlands, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 11 boards for Patrick Henry. Those 28 points gave Newlands a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Weatherred, who shot 67% from the field en route to 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Monte Vista's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Patrick Henry, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monte Vista is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Maranatha Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Monarchs' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 51.2 points per game this season. As for Patrick Henry, they are taking a road trip to take on San Diego at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
