Volleyball Recap: Summit Has No Trouble Against Carteret

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Summit had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Carteret Ramblers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hilltoppers yet this season.

While Summit won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Lynn Basaman, who had six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Basaman wasn't the only good servers: Summit was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in eight consecutive matches.

Summit is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-18 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Carteret fell to 5-1.

As of now, neither Summit nor the Ramblers have any future games scheduled.
