Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Centura

Centura had won two straight games and Barrett Fries did his part to make it three on Friday. The Centura Centurions snuck past the Fort Calhoun Pioneers with a 51-47 win thanks in part to Fries, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Another player making a difference was Zavery Jensen, who posted six points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Despite the loss, Fort Calhoun still got an impressive performance from Kade Foy, who earned 18 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Welchert, who put up five points and three steals.

Centura is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Fort Calhoun, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Centura wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-35 victory against Sandy Creek on the 4th. As for Fort Calhoun, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-53 defeat against Howells-Dodge on the 4th.
