Baseball Game Preview: Attica Red Ramblers vs. Seeger Patriots

For the second straight game, Attica will face off against Seeger. The Red Ramblers will be playing at home against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Attica has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 3rd.

Attica fell victim to Seeger and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-0 to the Patriots, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

For Seeger's part, Xavier Lang was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Lang has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Seeger's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-10 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Seeger let Ryder Hannon and Peyton Grimmett run wild. Hannon went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Grimmett went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Seeger is undefeated when Hannon posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Macyn Hughes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Seeger has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Attica, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16-1.
