Football Recap: Canyon Crest Academy Comes Up Short

It was a Battle of the Birds when Canyon Crest Academy challenged Santa Fe Christian on Wednesday. The Ravens received a blow as they fell 33-14 to the Eagles. The Ravens were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Leading Santa Fe Christian to victory were Taylor Novak and Winlsow Lenihan. Novak gained 120 total yards and two touchdowns, while Lenihan threw for 217 yards and four TDs while completing 81% of her passes. Novak also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, picking up a sack and making two total tackles.

This is the second loss in a row for Canyon Crest Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Santa Fe Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Canyon Crest Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-13 win against Rancho Bernardo on the 22nd. As for Santa Fe Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 69-6 victory against Orange Glen on the 22nd.
