Basketball Game Preview: Silverado Hawks vs. Corona Panthers

The Silverado Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the Corona Panthers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Silverado took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Serrano 76-25. With the Hawks ahead 40-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Corona over Miller in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Panthers blew the Rebels out of the water with an 84-40 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won four in a row.

Everything came up roses for Silverado against Corona in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 73-38 win. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
