Football Recap: Hillside Takes Down Ashley in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hillside had no problem doing just that on Friday. They claimed a resounding 33-0 win over the Ashley Screaming Eagle. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Hillside didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Erick Bonner. He is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Ja'Don Lillie was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles.

Hillside's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.2 points over those games. As for Ashley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Hillside will head out on the road to square off against Cardinal Gibbons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games. Ashley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
