Softball Game Preview: Knightdale Knights vs. Millbrook Wildcats

Knightdale hasn't had much luck against Millbrook recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Knightdale is taking a road trip to take on Millbrook at 3:30 p.m. Neither Knightdale nor Millbrook posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Knightdale is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 16-0 to Rolesville.

Meanwhile, Millbrook suffered their biggest defeat since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Wakefield, falling 11-1. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Wildcats' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Millbrook saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicole Drew, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Drew is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Callie Kaplan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Knightdale's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Millbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Knightdale suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Millbrook in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Knightdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
