Beaver is on a six-game streak of home wins, while South Sevier is on a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Beaver will welcome South Sevier at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Beaver's tournament run continued when they took on North Sevier on Saturday. Beaver was the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over North Sevier. The win continues a trend for the Beavers in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won five in a row.
Gracee Hutchings was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Lizzie Robinson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Beaver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Sevier only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, South Sevier never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Water Canyon 22-0. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Andi Woolsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Woolsey was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, South Sevier got a massive performance out of Halle Mckinlay, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Caitlin Nielson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
South Sevier's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Beaver, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.
Beaver came out on top in a nail-biter against South Sevier in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Beaver repeat their success, or does South Sevier has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
