Basketball Recap: Rainier Comes Up Short

Rainier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 59-30 loss at the hands of the Jefferson Lions. The Columbians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Rainier's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jefferson, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rainier will take on Clatskanie in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Rainier is facing Clatskanie at the right time seeing as Clatskanie is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Jefferson and Sheridan will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jefferson has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three matches.
