Basketball Game Preview: Providence Country Day Knights vs. Central Falls Warriors

The Providence Country Day Knights will face off against the Central Falls Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Last Monday, Providence Country Day humbled Block Island with a 57-16 victory. That looming 57-16 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Knights yet this season.

Meanwhile, Central Falls posted their closest win since February 27, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Achievement First Providence out 43-41.

Providence Country Day better keep an eye on Jamilson De Pina Almeida. He was instrumental in Central Falls' win, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 20 boards. De Pina Almeida is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last 14 games he's played. Hamilton Mendonca was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.

Central Falls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

Providence Country Day's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. As for Central Falls, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.

Everything came up roses for Providence Country Day against Central Falls in their previous matchup back in December of 2014, as the squad secured an 80-45 victory.
