The University Trailblazers are taking a road trip to take on the Lapel Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. University is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
University saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of Kokomo by a score of 6-5.

Cooper Cammack was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Griffin Wright made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lapel got the win against Shenandoah on Monday by a conclusive 25-1. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Like University, Lapel also got a great game from a two-way player: Eli Suchocki. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Suchocki was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Rylie Hudson and Camden Novak did most of the damage at the plate: Hudson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Novak got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave Hudson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was AJ Nunley, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lapel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .698. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
University's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lapel, their record now sits at 11-1.
University might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Lapel in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Trailblazers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
