Baseball Recap: Carmel Christian Comes Up Short

Carmel Christian was the 10-0 winner over Gaston Christian when they last played one another back in April of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell 12-8 to the Eagles on Thursday.

Carson Russell led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Tarr, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Carmel Christian now has a losing record of 9-10-1. As for Gaston Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Carmel Christian will challenge Combine Academy Global at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Gaston Christian, they will square off against Asheville Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
