With a playoff win on the line, Manvel rose to the challenge on Friday. They never let the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Kaylah Hopkins was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Talyah Young, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Manvel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Manvel's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9.
