Basketball Recap: Lakeside Lutheran Warriors vs. River Valley Blackhawks
Make it seven blowout wins for the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors this season. Everything went their way against River Valley on Monday as Lakeside Lutheran made off with a 63-42 victory. The score was close at the half, but Lakeside Lutheran pulled away in the second half with 39 points.
Lakeside Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wes Rahn, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaycee Guzman, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
The win was the third in a row for Lakeside Lutheran, bringing their record for this year to 18-2. As for River Valley, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeside Lutheran will take on the L-Cats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for River Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Hornets at 7:30 p.m.
