Georgetown is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game two weeks ago. They fell just short of Andrews by a score of 2-1.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Georgetown sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 16-25, 15-11.
Meanwhile, Aynor hadn't done well against Waccamaw recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Aynor was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Waccamaw. The win was some much needed relief for the Blue Jackets as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Aynor's got stronger as the match went on, holding Waccamaw to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-19, 25-13.
Aynor got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Lewis out in front who had 20 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaina Brown, who had 18 digs.
Aynor kept the net locked down and finished the game with 15 blocks. That's the most blocks they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Aynor, the win got them back to even at 14-14.
