Baseball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

Douglas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-2 to the Bishop Manogue Miners. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 on Tuesday.

Douglas got a good showing from Grayson Kamper, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kamper has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Bishop Manogue, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Douglas will square off against rival Carson at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue is set to challenge their familiar foe Reed at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
