Basketball Recap: Mt. Gilead Takes a Loss

Mt. Gilead fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Fredericktown on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Fredericktown Freddies 65-60. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Freddies: they've now lost five in a row.

Mt. Gilead now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Fredericktown, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Gilead will host East Knox at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Gilead is facing East Knox at the right time seeing as East Knox is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Fredericktown, they will be playing at home against Northmor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fredericktown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Northmor likes a good challenge.
