Preview: Baker Hornets vs. Theodore Bobcats
Baker has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Theodore Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Baker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Theodore is ranked 75th).
Baker suffered their biggest loss since November 16, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Davidson, falling 65-35. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Baker in their matchups with Davidson: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Theodore waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. Everything went their way against Saraland as Theodore made off with a 50-30 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Theodore has posted against Saraland since December 19, 2019.
Baker bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Theodore, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
Baker lost to Theodore on the road by a decisive 52-33 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can Baker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
