Softball Recap: Bandys Trojans vs. Forbush Falcons

With a playoff game on the line, Bandys rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Forbush Falcons a 5-0 shutout.

Owyen Lyall made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Lyall has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances. Lyall was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jessie Sipe was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Paige Barrymore was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Bandys' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. As for Forbush, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-10.

Bandys will challenge North Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have allowed few runs on average, (North Stanly: 1.2, Bandys: 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Forbush does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
