Softball Recap: McKinley Trojans vs. St. John Fighting Herald

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact McKinley can now relate to. They lost 13-3 to the St. John Fighting Herald on Monday.

Keira Berger was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

On St. John's side, Isabelle Holler made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Holler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Holler was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, St. John got a massive performance out of Rylee Frasure, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Alyssa Cevera was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI.

McKinley has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for St. John, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

As of now, neither McKinley nor St. John have any future games scheduled.
