Softball Game Preview: Brick Memorial Mustangs vs. Barnegat Bengals

The Brick Memorial Mustangs will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Barnegat Bengals at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Brick Memorial beat Point Pleasant Beach 6-2.

Meanwhile, while Barnegat put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Lacey Township. The Bengals came out on top against the Lions by a score of 4-0. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Barnegat now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Brick Memorial, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Brick Memorial couldn't quite get it done against Barnegat in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 as they fell 7-3. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
