Soccer Game Preview: Northwestern vs. Mourning

Northwestern hasn't had much luck against Mourning recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Northwestern Bulls will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Mourning Sharks at 2:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Northwestern fell victim to Miami and their airtight defense last Tuesday. They came up short against the Stingarees, falling 8-0. The shutout was out of character for the Bulls seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Mourning entered their game against Ferguson on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Mourning took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ferguson.

Mourning's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for Northwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Northwestern might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Mourning in their previous matchup back in November of 2018. Can Northwestern avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
