Recap: Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks vs. Williston-Elko Blue Devils

The Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks lost against the Williston-Elko Blue Devils on January 5th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Blackville-Hilda ended up on the wrong side of a tough 46-26 walloping at the hands of the Blue Devils. Blackville-Hilda has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Blackville-Hilda's loss came despite strong showings from Breyanna Williams and Amonya Smalls. Williams scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Smalls scored a point. Williams is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Blackville-Hilda's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Williston-Elko, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blackville-Hilda will take on the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Williston-Elko, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Pelion is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
