Football Recap: O'Connor Comes Up Short

O'Connor lost against Harlan back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers were outmatched by the Hawks and fell 55-7. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 608th, while the Hawks are ranked 72nd).

When it comes to explaining why O'Connor lost, don't look at Cash Manis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 123 yards and one TD on only 12 carries.

G'Ivori Graham had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, while also picking up 116 receiving yards and one score for Harlan. Malik Elmore helped out on the ground, rushing for 104 yards.

O'Connor's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Harlan, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, O'Connor will take on Brennan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Harlan, they will square off against Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks will be up against the Rams' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.8 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
