Volleyball Recap: Judge Memorial Catholic Takes a Loss

After flying high against Providence Hall two weeks ago, Judge Memorial Catholic came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the North Sanpete Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Judge Memorial Catholic took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-20, 15-5.

Mosese Kulikefu Moroni Kaitu'u paced Judge Memorial Catholic's offense, picking up nine kills. Moroni Kaitu'u got some help from Kyle Kim and his 18 assists. Finally, Jordan Vuijsters kept Judge Memorial Catholic's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Bradley Strange, who had 14 digs and three aces. That's the most digs he has posted over his last eight matches.

Judge Memorial Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for North Sanpete, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Looking ahead, Judge Memorial Catholic will be playing at home against American Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for North Sanpete, they are taking a road trip to square off against Providence Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Patriots will have lost six straight heading into Thursday's contest.
