Baseball Recap: Century's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Century dropped their record down to 7-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 8-3 to the Liberty Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 on April 10th.

As for Liberty, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games.

For Liberty's part, the team relied heavily on Nate Martin, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Shanks, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Century has already played their next game (against Towson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Liberty, they will face off against Francis Scott Key at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
