Basketball Recap: Tornillo Coyotes vs. Bowie Bears
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-48, which was the final score in the Tornillo Coyotes's tilt against the Bowie Bears on Friday.
Bowie's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johan Camacho, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards. Camacho's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joe Rodriguez, who went 10 of 18 en route to 25 points and six steals.
Tornillo has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Bowie, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.
After both having extra time off, Tornillo and Harmony School of Innovation will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Bowie, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-40 defeat against El Dorado on the 26th.
