Basketball Recap: Martin Luther Victorious

Martin Luther's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 57-56 victory over the St. Thomas More Cavaliers. The win was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 118th).

Martin Luther is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for St. Thomas More, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Martin Luther wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-71 defeat against Racine Saint Catherine?s/Racine Lutheran on the 4th. St. Thomas More has also already played their next match, a 73-45 victory against Catholic Central on the 4th.
