Basketball Recap: Cesar Chavez Takes a Loss

Cesar Chavez extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-5. They took a 72-57 bruising from the Perry Pumas. The Champions were down 55-34 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

As for Perry, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games.

Perry's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kolby Barnes, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 23 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Howard, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds.

Cesar Chavez wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-40 loss against Hamilton on the 11th. As for Perry, they have also already played their next game, a 75-50 defeat against Regis Jesuit on the 11th.
