Baseball Recap: Palisade Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Palisade waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Durango Demons an 11-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

Garrett Draper tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hunter Howard, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Will Seriani was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Palisade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are 9-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Palisade pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Durango, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

As of now, neither Palisade nor the Demons have any future games scheduled.
