In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. There's a new number one at the head of the rankings as well as a new caboose.
No Stoppin 'Em
Proctor Academy brought the heat last game after its low-scoring effort (six points) in the match before. It put the hurt on Tilton School with a conclusive 64 - 20 victory. Proctor Academy did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated. The combined 84-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The confrontation between Pinkerton (2nd in the power rankings) and Salem (3rd) did not disappoint. Pinkerton and Salem were almost perfectly matched up, but Pinkerton suffered an agonizing 15 - 14 defeat. As a result, Pinkerton fell one position in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Winnacunnet (6th in the power rankings) and Londonderry (4th). Both teams are rolling into the game after last-week wins. Only one team will win this week, so we'll find out on Friday which team fails to repeat its success.
