Baseball Recap: Redwood Christian Extends Winning Streak to Two

While Redwood Christian's win against College Prep wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles beat the Cougars on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Gil Butler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Redwood Christian is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-7-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Redwood Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dikaio Ambriz, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave Ambriz a new career-high. Adam Hendren was another, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Redwood Christian's record now sits at 7-8-1. As for College Prep, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Redwood Christian and College Prep will both be playing St. Joseph Notre Dame the next time they take the field. The Cougars will host the Pilots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
